HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The department was established in 1962 as a general-technical Department of Theoretical Bases of Radioengineering at the Faculty of Radio Engineering. The following individuals were employed as the department heads: Doctor of Engineering, Professor K. Krukovsky - Synevych of Engineering, Associate Professor R. Belyakov (1976 - 1979), Doctor of Engineering, Professor R.Kartashov (1979 - 1985), Candidate of Engineering, Associate Professor V. Ivanov (1985 - 1987).

Since 1987, after the reorganization of the department "Theoretical bases of radio engineering" into the department of "Radio Electronics", it was headed by Doctor of Engineering, Professor A. Beletsky during more than 20 years.

Since 2008, Doctor of Engineering, Professor F. Yanovsky works as the Head of Electronics Department.

In 2000, the "general-technical department" of Radio Electronics was reorganized into the "producing department", that is, the Department of Radio Electronics became a self-sufficient body that prepares the graduates. Since that time it began training in the specialty 8.091002 "Biotechnical and medical devices and systems." In 2004, the department started training in the specialty 7.090803 "Electronic systems" and specialty 7.090804 "Physical and biomedical electronics." . Since 2007, the department trains bachelors in two directions: 6.050802 "Electronic devices and systems" and 6.050801 "Micro-and Nanoelectronics", , and also it trains specialists (engineers) and masters in 7/8.09080102 "Physical and Biomedical Electronics" and 7/8.09080202 "Electronic Systems"..
